View Full Version : Rolling
I've got a dummy question. I am new to park flyer. For a park flyer without aileron (just elevator and rudder), how do you perform rolling? When landing especially, how do you ensure that the plane is level and stay level? If not, how do you correct it without being able to roll?
Thanks.
you cant really, you'll probably find the wings are very dihedral which means as you apply rudder it will put in the roll for you. Also it will try and self right if you try and get inverted say out the top of a loop. You need ailerons to roll. This does make for very steady flight and good for training.
Oh I see!! However not all park flyers have dihedral wings. So I guess for those planes without dihedral wings, they will have to land with the wing touching the ground. Good to know.
Thanks.
I think you'll find that any model that doesn't have any dihedral will have ailerons, but it doesn't need much dihedral to be able to fly successfully on rudder elevator.
When I first started out in Radio Control, we only had single channel and could only operate the rudder, but we were still able to loop and roll just using rudder control.
