Expected release date is about 2 months. Price will be $299. A video showed it to be a capable aircraft.

From what I saw, the Viper 70 will be nice, although still lots of molded plastic parts. However, quality was good on this prototype. It has the same shaft diameter as the Eco 8, so it's going to be pretty sturdy. The frame design is much better than the 8 too, and very compact.

It looked like it had a driven tail since the pully was on the main shaft. So this reduces one stage and adds it at the tail, allowing the heli to be more compact, and not having much impact on efficiency.

The main gearbox is 2 stage and I don't know the gear ratios possible, but hopefully it will be high so we can run high motor rpm setups. It makes the helicopter much slimmer though, which I think was the main intent.

I also like the torque tube tail control. It looks like a low slop setup, but I hope the use a stiffer alloy. The aluminum on the protortype seed a bit soft.

All in all, This is an interesting helicopter with some innovative design features.

yes ,i like that, havent seen anything new for a while, just clones of others helis, 299 not bad either, although i guess that will take a steep hike once got electrics etc,at least that is getting cheaper too!.
