This is my removable , beefed up nose job for the shocky.
1 I make carbon plate using two layers of carbon matt/epoxy
2 epoxy into pre slotted fuse , 3mm carbon tube x4(i run the two horizontal ones on to the wing to lock it to that as well, this way the wing structure is also stiffened)
3 fill ends of carbon tube with plastic and then drill hole for motor mount screws
4 use 4 x servo mounting screws for motor mount
This is as light as the original unit and apart from holding the motor(the motor mount, tubes and screws weigh 5.8gms from memory), solid and making it easily removable the tubes aslo stiffen up the front of the craft making nose, ins nicer on the plane.
I have had a heavy nose in with this set up and the motor mount(c/f plate)broke at where it is thinnest at the screw, perfect plane in one piec and i just replace the motor mount(i have made a stack for spares /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/upfiles/121933/By76258.jpg
