Got my su-27 shockflyer yesterday, ordered directly from Ikarus in Ft Myers. What a sweet looking fighter - and it went together flawlwess within 2 hrs. Now I cant wait for the maiden - today its blowing here with 30 kts and tomorrow i have to work...It was well worth the wait!

Not much to add to this thread, it is a fun airplane. No, it is not just another foamy: different looks, different flying. And for < 40$ that is a lot of fun. Get one and try - you won't regret!

Still too windy outside - so I am buiding my son's: went together in 57 Minutes!!! (No servos yet) If somebody would have told me in the past I am building a flyable aircraft in less than an hour.... I am really amazed about the parts fit and the construction, comes out to be really sturdy.
Btw in the future I am planning to upgrade the motor; looking at the German Ikarus webpage they have a really small outrunner coming, 20gr - that sounds promising. In the meantime I may put a brushed mini-z (small 1:24 scale model car) in it. Had it on the bench yesterday, max power it draws about 7A and has 120gr static thrust with a 4 inch prop, pitch unknown. Should go ballistic if the battery can take it (2 Lipoly 700), but should be doable with proper throttle technique.

Instructions are unclear about the inboard tabs on the ailerons. If building the "Expert" version of the SU-27 do you cut these tabs off? What are the different flight characteristics between novice and expert builds?
I went ahead a cut the tabs off. Is anyboby flying their SU-27 yet? If so, how is it? I will try to fly mine by Monday.
