Hi i have been trying to work out why the range of the pitch is not in tune with the range of a standard servo so full pos and neg(+10 -10) can be achieved with out any interaction from the servo not being able to travel far enough!.
Do you think if the pitch compensator arms where a touch shorter this would increase the range of the pitch and put it more in line with what standard servos can offer?.
i,ve been trying to find a way to do it and have come to the conclusion the only way and reason why it wont is because of the ratio being offered by the length of the current arms.
There is no reason why the eco 8 cant be the mean beast on the street.
thanks

Hi Will,

this is what Dr. James Wang, editor of many RC helicopter articles and reviews in Rotory Modeller, Helicopter Word, Quiet Flyer and others is recommending:

“…. how to increase the collective travel range on the Eco 8. Make the pushrod link (#67534) connecting the Bell-Hiller mixing arm (#67578) and the flybar seesaw (#67610) 19 mm long (measured between the centers of each ball link).

I reversed the Bell-Hiller mixing arm (#67578) so the “short” arm is connected to the swashplate, and the “long” arm is connected to the flybar. This increases the collective travel range of the stock Eco 8.

The Bell-Hiller mixing arm must be turn inside out, too. To prevent the pushrod that connects the swashplate to the Bell-Hiller mixing from touching the flybar, it is necessary to drill a new hole on the main rotor blade grip for the 2 mm pivoting bolt. Drill a new hole 3 mm to the left of the old hole on the blade grip.”
