View Full Version : Eco 7 Loss of lift – suddenly
Hi, for some time now when I fly the Eco 7 I loss lift, very suddenly, I have checked all the settings and they look fine. I can be hovering just 12 inches of the ground and still lose lift? I have broken 3 sets of supports. Can any one offer any advice?

Hi maybe its your battery, or not good balanced blades.
Try to check your pitch standings full throttle pitch al up, trotlle down blades giving little down force.
I am not an expert but maybe its that the problem.:D

Hi, Thanks for the heads up, I will give thata try at the weekend....
I had a problem lately with the Tamiya Plugs. The connection was poor an I lost height suddenly resulting in a small crash from 2 meters.
Luckily nothing was damaged. Taking a closer look at the plugs showed that the jacks and pins have been lose and misplaced. So, the ECOs electronics were not properly powered. I could repair the plugs with small screwdrivers, however, soon i will change the Tamiya plugs with a different kind of more secure plugs.
Since then, I always check the plugs pre-flight to guarantee a good connection between battery and gigatronic.
First of all cut off the tamiya plugs and fit Deans plugs. Tamiya plugs are rubbish. You can also use Eflite blue plugs which work well too.
Secondly I had bad glitching with my Eco 7 which caused the heli to jump up or drop suddenly, luckily it didn't break.
I checked and found the gigatronic was losing connection with the transmitter which was confirmed by the gigatronic flashing red.
I ended up using a servo extension lead and moving the fm module to the front of the Eco 7 in the cockpit area and now there are no glitches.
Mind you the range is still not good when I do I range check with the transmitter aerial down. So I have now bought the DSL8 reciever from ACT which is very narrow band receiver and designed to work with the Eco 7.
People who have this receiver say they get excellent range and no glitches at all.
