Hello,
I've had the ECO 3 months now and it still isn't working correctly... several people from the R/C field nearby can't figure out why it doesn't work! Can someone please help? It is always trying to rotate counter-clockwise, but I have to give it almost full right rudder to combat the torque. That's not all: when enough right rudder is given to combat torque, it strafes left, and is very sluggish. I've had to replace the rotor blades, tail boom, and the main blade shaft, all because of this problem! One person at the field says that it might be the pitch compensator, and that a gyro might fix the problem (about $800 will be spent). Is anyone familiar to this problem? Thanks for any help.

I have never heard of anyone haveing much success with the 'Pitch compensator' - most people going for the CCPM option which gives much more control with less linkages. As for flying without a gyro, I've only been flying heli's for about 6 months but I wouldn't even like to attempt trying without one..!
I use the GWS Piezo Gyro which goes for about £32.95 over here (England).
Most modern radios have the option of CCPM mixing for this heli - although I'm fortunate enough to have a JR3810, I believe a lot of the cheaper sets have similar functions.

Thanks for the info! I have the original version with the mechanical mixer and standard 4-channel radio (hitec focus 4). How much would a CCPM capable ECO add on to the price? What kind of radio should I get for the CCPM? Again, thanks for the info!

The ECO already comes with all the bits for the use of CCPM mixing - if you use this system, then the box still rattles when you have finished building it..!

The only advise I can offer on the radio is to go to your local model shop and enquire. I know that HITEC do supply a 'computer radio', but don't know much about its capabilities (You need to specify 90 degrees CCPM Mixing). The cheapest JR alternative would be the XP642 (Transmitter only sells for about £60.00 over here) - you can still use the rest of your gear (not sure about the reciever though).
