I heard that he used a bunch of single use lithium cells. Like the expensive little ones in the fully automatic 35mm cameras.

I believe that is correct. Its funny how the details are missing!

The details are missing but they did say "on primary cells" = non-rechargeable to the non-engineers out there.

They also quoted that it was a fully stock machine ... hmmm.

Primary or not ... I bet the military was very interested in those claims. You could do a lot with a remote device in an hour.
