View Full Version : lateral fin movement
The fins on the ends of the rotorhead have a few millimeters of lateral movement even with the screws tightened into them..
Should the fins be moving or is there a problem?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Fenster,
If I understand you correctly (my English is so-so...), you have the problem with two black plastic fins on the both ends of steel rod going through the rotor head.

(I hope this is what we are talking about ?)

I didn't like the movement either, so I have used longer screws and fixed them with the safe nut (the one with plastic inside) on the other side. It looks ugly and perhaps not very aerodynamic but these fins have not moved since ...

I havent had this problem, But I use the carbon fly bar on one of my ECOs. The other is the stock metal one. I am going to check today and see if I have any movement.
Bigeyes, Love your picture of the flybar.
If I find any movement I will be sure to let you guys know what I think

preise im Fachhandel erfagen = praise in the specialized trade erfagen????
I used the altavista.com translator to figure them out. I don't think the last one worked too well though http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

What does this say.
Im Info-Feld Konnen verschiedene Hinweise
untergebracht sein,zB.
Now over the letter (o) in the word Konnen there are two little dots. I cant do that with my ketboard. So you will have to imagine they are there.

Fenster,
Hello again. I too experienced the movement of the paddles on the flybar. Just remove the paddle a use 400 grit silicon carbide sand paper and lightly sand the flybar ends where the paddles cover. Reinstall the paddles making sure they a true (flat) to one another then secure with thin CA glue after installing the 2mm screws. Do not over tighten the screws, just snug is sufficient. If you find the paddles are not flat to each other, adjust without removing the 2mm screws and reapply the thin CA. Having the paddles true to each other and secured improves the smoothness of the rotor head. Don't forget to accurately center the flybar to the head, that also reduces vibration.
how about heck rotor, took me a whole day to figure that one out. or Rotorblatter, that one wasnt so bad.
But I have two I dont know. Can you help me. My German stinks.
(siehe letzte Seite). (preise im Fachhandel erfagen). Oh and one more (Neuheit)
I have no clue what these mean but they are in the Graupner price book.
Dave
I checked both my helis and both are good. So I am okay, But I will keep my eye on them during maint.
Thanks.
I staightened them as much as possible and craxy glued them tight right after.
If it comes loose again, I'll cut it off and get the carbon rod instead.
