View Full Version : "reversing" an Eco8 motor
Hi all,
Ta daaaaa.....
First time for 125632 years you come in this "motors and controllers section" isn't it ?
My problem :
I want to use a "Eco8 Sport motor" on a plane. As this motor is optimized for reverse operation I need to change the rotation direction.
My question :
How do I optimize the timing of the motor for better performance ?
Thank's for your help !
Olivier
Beuhhhhhh ... I don't know ...
Maybe, by setting timing at "O" and making current and speed test at various setting points ...
I know it's not what you wanted to know, but that's just what I can say ...
PS: Your piccolo's on the way to Colmar, I gave him to your parents yesterday ! http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/ubb/images/icons/wink.gif
Best regards Olive and ... take care of your jewellery ! LOL

Before you change it you may concider using a gearbox for more thrust !
I don't know the motor so can you tell me if the timing is adjustable by loosening 2 screws or is the end bell held by tags ?
Also dose it have timing marks on the can ?
Just out of interest what plane are you fitting it in ?
Terry
Hi ,
I intend to use this motor in a racer (Edago from Simprop with 7 cells).
I have "timed" the motor for a normal rotation direction... It works !
I use a 5.5x5.5 CAM speed prop
the motor turns it around 15 - 16000 rpm (no sparks anymore...)
