Default NiMH charging

Help please!
How do you folk recharge (and charge for the first time) your Nickle Metal Hydride cells.
I have some Sanyo Twicells pack I want to test, but not sure how to get the best out of them. They sure feel heavy after a Tadiran pack.

I agree with you, Mikey. It's not fundamental to have a special charger but your delta peak must be sensible.
You can also put a little PC cooler facing to your pack during the charge and just after the flight. It's help the cells to refresh and avoid "over" heating

I have done a couple of things. Both the packs that i have did not take a full charge until after the 3rd or 4th charge. All initial charges (for Sanyo 720 NiMh) were at 1.4 amps. Next I did a slow charge at .24 amps for about three hours. That really seemed to fill them up. Got my best time with that charge (5.25 min out of G/E 4.2 in G/E. Then I would do 1.4a charges till it peaked, usually between 20 to 30 minutes. After a couple of these charges I did a deep discharge (I forgot and left a lightbulb on it all night) it wouldn't take a regular charge at 1.4. It kept peaking after 2 min. So I did another 3hr .24 charge and that seemed to breath new life into it again. These cells are very fickle with the pic..don't know why.

I bought a "proper" charger, that can be set to "sensitve" peak detection for NiMH.
Normal peak detection sometimes does not work well enough, and batteries can get fried.
