Default strenthened lengthened polished aluminium link set

I have just finished making my s/l/p/a/l/set http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewP...660&p=37507756
the arms have been lengthened to make up for the non anti rotation clip and the bic mod and im sure the piccolilots with the fly bar bearing mod might find some benefit to them as you are able to bring the arms back to thier original positions due to the spacing of the bearings.simply cut your links /arms in half and insert into a piece of aluminium tube and glue with thick ca inside(very carefully)i found it easier to bend the aluminium with a longer piece than needed by hand as if you use a sharp object the aluminium is prone to kink then i cut to size and polish with auto sol metal polish, the links were an after thought but can only make control more responsive as they are now alot stiffer these are the same length as per normal and are rejoined inside once again with thick ca.use a pin to insert a couple more drops inside and they are as strong as ever .weight is about the same for me as i lose the a/r clip and the arms on the swashplate that it used to clip to and i end up with unbielevable performance .

Well, I followed your lead on the metal arms like you made. Mine look like yours all the way, and with the metal hub, and metal shaft, I am very happy with the looks.

Now on for the biggest plus for doing your mod with the metal arms. I was about 15 feet in the air got a bit too close to a small tree branch. The strike resulted in the head flying off and the piccomeing in at a rate of descent that was disheartening. Lucky for the snow on the ground, no damage. Upon walking up to retrieve the head aasy, I noticed it was all in tack. Upon inspecting the pic, one of the arms had flew off. No walking carefully look around. About 1.5 meters from the crash site layed the arm. Very easy to spot as it shined in deep contrast to everything around. Imagine the same with grass or dirt flying sites.

Thanks for the mod Will.

Tom

what is the point of this mod, besides looks, and it being lenghtened for J's bearing mod?

The point for me was to try to fly it with out the A-R clip. Not for any reason other than I wanted to see if it worked. and it does work. This is a mod you should do if you, like me, have to change everything just to see what happens it won't do anything to help control or airtime (maybe 1-2 sec if your hinge is heavy) this is what I found. Maybe Will did get other results
