Who knows how to re-program ESCs?
Tonight I discovered that while the Jeti-06 is a cheap, light, and well-performing brushless controller, it has a low voltage cut-out at 5.3 volts. This isn't a problem with NiCd packs, but lithiums seem to be a problem - I still have plenty of power when the ESC shuts them off. Maybe this is a good way to protect my lithiums from damage, but it's still pretty darn embarassing to have the ship uncermoniously plop down on the carpet at the end of the flight.
Not that we need to re-program things entirely, since everything else functions perfectly well. If someone could just tell me where the offending circuit/diode/schottky/whatever is located, I'd be willing to execute a "surgical strike" of some sort. Shucks, I bet my hunting knife would be perfect for the job!
Petn7 - still working on getting out those brushless pictures...
