Default HiTec HS 5125 MG slim wing digital servo

Ok I got one of those and decided to try it on the tail of my fully upgraded ECO 8. So far I have three flights with it but no aerobatics yet. I am still trimming out the heli after the crash. I am pretty impress with the servo. At first I set it up pretty much like how I would have done the HS 81. The tail stay pretty solid after I dial down the gain but the response was way too fast for my liking. I was doing pirouette both ways and they were blinding fast. I took it up for some slow forward flight and I was doing unintentional pirouette at every turn. So I brought her down and changed the linkage around. I moved the ball link to the second hole on the servo arm instead of the outside hole. I also moved the ball link to the outside hole on the tail bell crank. I played with the gyro gain a little and I dialed the gain all the way down to around 30%. Now the tail stays super locked in and the response is a bit more sedate.

Here is a picture on how I mount it.

I can't. So after I finish setting up the crasher I will work on ungrading the transmission shaft holder and landing gear.

Oh dear, oh dear, Seismic my man, there is still a part that is not mentioned and that can be upgraded if you build it yourself.

Besides, the landing gear is not in the picture.

Hmmm.....may be you need to make that into a game. The only other part visible in that picture will be my radio plate. I did upgrade it by trimming the "hooks" off and mounting it to the frame via two carbon rods. I can make a carbon plate and create a mount but I was lazy and it was only a flat plate. Seismic how do you like the ali boom clamps?I thought about them but knowing how brittle the cf boom is I figures the plastic ones might be a little more flexable.

I actually like the ali boom clamp better than the plastic one. This is the last upgrade I bought because I was thinking more like you. However I found that the ali boom clamp has a larger "foot print" so the pressure on the boom is less.
