hello. I know a lot of this has been coverd BUT ! I have done the up grade decribed on John K's webpage. Im useing the 18be and piccoboard and a y conector and a jr642 radio and 8cell 720 nihm. The poblem is the gyro wont hold the tail correctly. It acts like a slipping pinion on the tailmotor I Have been adjusting the pots on the picoobord and can get close; but its just not correct. I have lots of power on the main rotor. Its almost like the two controllers are out of sink or time ??? Start up ..throttle up .connect battery ;one beep then two beeps from the 18be return thottle to bottom and wait for piccoboard to come on. all this seems to be going ok. is there a adjustment I can make in the radio ? I was also wondering how many people have had sucses with this set up ? Im sooooo close. Thanx for your time. David

Dave this setup does work, I fly a Piccoboard/Astro/Shultze, with a non-heli radio.
With the weight of the NiMHs and extra speed control, the tail has a bit extra work to do. More lift required = more torque, so if anything isn't quite right in the tail dept, it may struggle to keep up. My Pic weighs 178g without a battery. Apart from mixer setting I can only suggest the usual things, dying tail motor, gear mesh or friction, or perhaps a high resistance connection from battery to Piccoboard? |

if you're having problems with the tail keeping up with the mains, reduce the pitch of your main blades.

it is FIXED !!! :.} I pluged my Y cable in to the tail control on the piccoboard and know everything works perfect .I had it on the bottom throttle controll leads from the piccobard. I must have something reversed in my radio from the first time I set it up. cant wait to get home from work and fly. thankyou for your replys Dave
