Came down a bit too hard the other day and broke servo. I ordered a new servo from my LHS but as they are a really really small one they don't have anything but standard servos in stock so I get my servo next week thursday
But.. why not check what's wrong with the old one. Figured it out to be one tooth thats broken. As the servo never rotates 360 deg, I thought why not move it so that the broken part is never used. And now it works.. hopefully it won't break I will ofcourse remove it as soon as possible, but now I'm able to fly again (until I crash again, that is |

Depending on the servo, you can buy separate servo gears to replace the broken ones. Check out servo city, they are great. If you have the HS 50, you can get replacement gears for $3.15. http://www.servocity.com

If your servo is beyond repair...
You can use it as a ESC and motor for a slow flyer!!!!! Take the circuit board motor and pot out. Connect it to your RX, set your throttle at the minimum. Turn the pot until the motor stops spinning. Move the throttle up and hey presto the motor will run... You could also set the throttle to middle and then adjust the pot so the motor stops to give you forward and reverse, maybe for a micro RC Car!!!! Probably better to use a bigger servo, but could be fun ------------------ Tim G-TAW Have a look at My Pic Pics Page |
