Default Frame stifness

Hello,
I really hope there are still royal users out there..

I am trying to get my royal flying with more headspeed.
Running up to 1200 rpm i have a stabel flight but anything over 1300 gives more and more blade tracking problems up to 5 cm.
And the whole machine starts to shiffer that the canopee starts to fall off...

Offcause everything is straight and balanced..
I even tried a compleet new head and blades..

When i remove the tail stud rods it gets slightly better up to sudden heavy tremble...

Now my question..
Are there any upgrades available making the frame more stable..
What else places to look..

I think i,ve to go to my workshop and create me some metal parts making the frame more stable..

My setup is an straight barebone ECO8 royal with 4cell lipo and plettenberg motor. It should be able to spin up the head at 2000 rpm..

Anny suggestions would be helpfull..
(german is also OK..)

Benno

Default ECO 8 Royal, tracking probs

Hi Benno,

Almost everybody went through the same difficulties in the beginning of the Royal.
There are "ton`s" of comments in this forum (mostly at the german side) to this topic.

In short words:

-Ikarus recommended to change the assembly of the head mechanics (see homepage Ikarus, Royal description)
-Ikarus offered a (free of charge) exchange of the "soft plastic" parts like mixing arms, seesaw .., ask your dealer or contact Ikarus in Germany.

This helps to stabilize the head and to solve the tracking problem .

In addition, I have used upper aluminium mixing arms (modified from HDX 500 series) and the pitch slider together with the Ikarus aluminium swashplate and alu main head.

It works fine, I run the Royal up to 1700 rpm (smooth flying, turns loops, funnel .. ), because of the weak 2mm mainhead screw, it is not recommended to get above. Some users fixed the head with Loctite, that can help, as well.

Don't hesitate to ask, if you need more help.

Best regards

Michael
