Default 12v Halteseil - 12v tether

Hi guys, I,m from the other side, I,m trying to make up a 12v tether to power my little Piccolo, main reason, ive fried my neighbours lipos that he leant me.
So I need to wait till payday to buy some new ones, I know people dont like to fly tethered bt for me its a means to an end, it means I still get my fix and learn to hover at the same time.

Anyway I have a 12volt 9AH/20HR battery for power.
I have tried to use 15 ft of telephone wire (26 gauge)
I seem to be unable to get any lift

I Have used approx 10 ft of speaker cable and with this I can hover but it is quite thick and not very flexible, the telephone wire is so light and flexible it wold be perfect.
Ive tried different lengths to "tune" it so that I dont lose power at full throttle but to no avail.

Has anyone made a tether to power there Piccolo, I leave the battery in place for CofG although i might take it out today as I read that someone else done it without a battery attached for weight/balance.
And as the englsh forum seems to be closed i,m over here trying to keep my piccolo airborne.
Thanks for any tips

Hi,
you can use a spaekar cable from Battery - around 12 ft- than you need for the last way to the helicopter a smaller cable to the Pic. try 6 or 9 ft- this small cable is not a problem about flexibility and weight.

telephon wire ist not flexible enough- take 0,5 mm² flexible wire !
( it will be reduced the voltage about 11 V DC )
Think about- your Pic ist very light- take ballast ... 60-80g when you try to hover on a big power-battery on ground !
Good weight ist 300g for training.
Have a look to the temperature of the engines ! Give them a breaktime to cool up. ( think 10 min Flighttime ) than 30 min. break.

many great´s
Thomas

Hi Papi,
Thank you for your information, am I correct in understanding that I should use 12ft of speaker wire then 6-9ft of thin 0.5mm2 wire to the little piccolo, in total a max of 21ft of cable?

The telephone line i,m using (or not because it doesnt) is two bits of the inner core, there four inner cores per cable, with insulation they are under a mm in thickness, I had hoped this would work, but I think maybe I am losing volts along the length through heat build up?

Thanks again for your help, I am now on the look out for a Piccolo V2 as my little piccis now abit too tired and mostly held together by tie wraps coat hangers and super glue
