Hi - I've been watching the other posts with interest as I am having a few funnies with mine. I have a picoboard plus and am still getting a drift one way or the other through a flight, I can't get that final minutest adjustment to keep it steady. I have not yet gone down the route of the rev mix etc so this may or may not fix it. However last night I noticed that sometimes there is a slight noise from the Picc when the TX sticks etc are all at zero, as though it's trying to slightly power up a motor. Is this correct or an indication of an incorrectly set gyro ? Also - when the throttle is at zero I can move the rudder and the tail blades will still spin up, again is this expected ??
Thanks Ed |

Yes, the tail rotor can be spun at zero throttle, as it simply assumes you are trying to rotate the tail around which you could do at zero throttle. I think I also notice that my servos seem to vibrate slightly sometimes before I start up as if they have been given some stick, but not enough to actually move anything. I also think this is normal and not a function of the Piccoboard but the receiver.
As far as your adjustment goes, you will never get ALL the tail motion out, so if it's fairly close that may be as good as it gets. The pots are so sensitive that you could spend all day trying to move them back and forth 1 mm to get it "perfect". I believe a well adjusted tail should hold steady at center stick with periodic slight bumps of the stick to keep it straight. Bottom line is, your setup sounds pretty normal to me. |

ok - thanks for the advice, I shall assume all is well with the setup then. It's a bit tricky when you have no comparison and have never flown a heli before...think I need to get to a few indoor meets with other fliers. Anybody know of any in the Oxford area (England) ?

Hi everyone,
Been keeping my eye on this BBS for a few weeks now while I await my piccolo. Its finally arrived and I thought I would run the motor in, so I charged the sanyo 250 pack up with my GWS MC2002 charger, then turned my skysport 4 tx on, plugged the motor in then the battery pack, the board blinked once then nothing. I dont know much about these so I would appreciate any help given. Many thanks Stuart |

Mine did the same, it sounds like you may have a dual conversion receiver crystal, the piccoboard must have single conversion. You shouldnt need to change the tx xstal, just get a single conv' rx xstal to match your existing one in the tx- I THINK.
Good luck, let us know what happens. |

I shall try and make it, how big is the venue, what insurance do I need etc? (already a BMFA member). Would be interesting to see how mine flies compared to others...
how many usually go ? |

Ok here are a few more details. BMFA cover is fine. 1100 to 1700 for £10, that's right six hours.
The hall is a sports hall, six badminton courts rectangular and good headroom. Mains points along the wall and tables provided. This is a special meeting so attendance will be hard to predict, Nige will have a better idea of numbers on the evening "do"s as I'm usually too busy flying and nattering and laughing. The last one was a bit quiet, only about 7 heli fliers plus a few planks (must build one of those!). |

Sounds good, looks like I have permission from the better half so should be there.
Only shame is that there is a local meet at Bicester the day after - may be pushing my luck to get to that one as well ( Still, if there are going to be a few Picc fliers at yours then I would prefer to come to that one to get as many tips etc as possible |
