Default Piccoboard question

I've a PB question. does the PB work on specific frequencies (ie. 35 Mhz) and if it does, say 35MHz, must i use a 35MHz rx/tx too?

Yeah it sure does....
But you can use any of the channels within the Mhz, say if 40Mhz you could use 40.63,40.61 things like that.

therefore like back here there's only 29 that's legal for r/c aviation and ikarus doesn't produce PBs in this range so go for the PB alone without the reciever......

The PB is a separate board and not specific to any frequency band, but in some countries is shrink wrapped to a receiver, like here in England

Thanks, JJ. looks like i'm back in square one. but i'm hanging on to the slim hope that the tx/rx that i bought isn't compatible with my PB, hence the hair-raising (and shearing) experience with "Betty".

Yo.
was actually going to sleep but decided to check in for some tips on cut blades......

Anyway the Tx/Rx might cause problems especially for us in Singapore cause lotsa manufacturers do not provide 29Mhz Rx anymore... therefore one way is to fly the picc on other "legal" channels but not out in the open. According to this fellow whom i met, his advise is to purchase a Tx with an RF module coz u could change the Tx Freq without getting a new tx..... Just like when i bought my FF9 from futaba it was in 29Mhz so i had to get a new module from futaba... and seems like the original futaba rx gives problems to the PB as it is unable to use the entire throttle range.
When i throttle to 50% and higher the rudder dies off. seem to be incompatability of rx and PB.......

wow long post......

ok, problem seems to have gone away. my Betty's working fine again last evening. initially, the problem was the tail motor would go full power when the throttle is at 25% power. on another day, the tail would be totally healthy but the main motor wouldn't turn at all.. and all of a sudden come alive to about 50% power, with no response to my stick control at all (although the tail is still controllable). i plugged in my brother's GWS Naro receiver (I'm using a GWS Pico) and everything works out fine. and after i re-installed my Pico rx, things were ok again. It looks like the Naro has purged the 'bug' in my PB. sounds impossible but that's what happened. took my Betty out last evening and had a few flights (if you can call it that) and had no problems at all. anyway, managed to keep it in the air for about 5-8 seconds this time (i had limited space in the multi-storey carpark). it seems like piccs like to dash off in one direction if there's too much stick throw, doesn't it. i know we should stick delicately but your brains and fingers can't think when your beloved heli is heading into a concrete pillar. hey fly, i might want to meet up with you, maybe you can show me the finer points of piccoloing. i'm sorry i can't e-mail u cos my browser isn't configured to handle mail.

cheers.

wow in a multi storey carpark? if it's in the open that's not really recommended coz the slightest breeze would throw a FP picc crazy during the initial learning phase.... anyway could it be glitching of the rx? is it an old Rx?
if you dun mind try adding weights to the blades or flybar paddles. that really helped me alot in learning to hover but remmember that all these mods and advice might and might not work.... like cut blades doesn't work for me (still dun noe why ) so the most important is dun give up and keep on trying.....

i learnt how to fly in the bedroom (was reminded time and time about the "extra patterns" on the furniture in the living room ). although it's really really tough in such a tight place but when you try in the open you find that you have better command over the picc especially when you get the hang of it. Oh sent you an email too
