Yep it auto-terminates and will auto-resume should the power become disconnected before the cells are finished charging. It uses two Li-ion charger controller IC's from Analog Devices. They have a great charge profile that gives the $$$$Orbit charger$$$$ a run for its money in charge time. Right now I will build all of the chargers myself to keep costs low, I should be able to keep up with the demand. If not then I am in trouble as to have an outside vendor assemble the chargers would add an easy 15-20 dollars to the cost, not something I want to do! I am currently building & shipping the beta units to the testers this week (you will be getting one soon Paul). After the Betas are out, the next focus is on the labels for the cover to mark all of the settings, then the Manual, then on to streamlining my production techniques so I can produce them in quantity and still have a life I hope to have all of this done have them ready for sale within the next month. Thanks

Troy - Sounds great keep us posted. I am in the process of looking for a "real charger". I am currently using a micro size one which works fine on the nicad and nimh 7 cells I have. But now that I am hooked on this hobby I need something bigger and I would like to move over to Lith cells.

Thanks

Hey Troy,

That looks awesome. It really troubles me how smart you are with the CNC machine, learning to fly and this new charger! . Anyways I was wondering what happened with the kokam 1575's? I ordered the 1020's but was really hoping to get myself some larger capacity packs...

Troy,

Did you ever ship out that extra cell? Or are you waiting for the beta charger to ship? No rush, since I would not be using it yet anyway..... waiting for the charger!

Reply privately so I can capture your Email here at work.

Thank you for the compliments everyone.

Hit Yourself, Well I don't know about smart, just really determined I wish I could get more 1575's but Kokam does not make them anymore. I have the HE 1400 Li-polys to test but from what I have read, it doesn't look like they will be a good replacement. Running parallel setups of the Kokam 1020's works really well and nets a 2000ma pack. 4 kokam (2s2p) 1020's are still ligher than the standard 8 cell AAA pack. A 6 cell (3s2p) 1020 pack would be about 20 grams heavier than the 8 cell AAA pack but would provide awesome power.

Paul, I was holding on to the extra cell so I can send it up at the same time as the charger. I will be shipping your Charger & extra cell out this Friday so you should have it for testing early next week. Thanks

-Troy
