Watch out for the Thermals above Malc's Eco motor and battery pack though - he likes to run them HOT !!

Mines nice and cool now, with my Hacker motor in.

Still needs the pitch curves setting up, so watch out

Won't be doing any circuits, but may suffer from 'ceiling effect' if the motor has its way

See you all tomorrow/today/thursday ...

How else can I keep warm - who needs hot water bottles when a glowing battery pack does the job

Should be interesting tonight - I'm trying a new Hybrid - 23 turn single wind armature from the Vision motor in the Ikarus performance motor can

Guys,

The S/H deal for £150 fell through I have found another one where supposedly the guy is retired has flown it twice and and is selling in in fro £200 pounds

I am tempted. Anyway also went along to Inwood models last night and the guy there (Dave ?) is a real blast He had a brand new ECO 8 with all the bits on the counter incl 2 * 2400 cells less the motor for around £300. Was really trying to give me a knock down deal bless him. I managed to resist him, although did come out with a Fun Pic kit to build my second bird, until I see these ECO 8's tonight at Welwyn

Maybe I should go for the kit as I guess part of the fun is the build ?

Regards

Jerry

It's also easier to rebuild after your first major crash if you built it yourself

Jerry
Just wondered why the S/H deal fell through?
I did know he wanted the buyer to collect

So Jerry, having met the crowd last night and seen a couple of Eco's in the air are you off to Inwoods this Saturday

As you have the charger I would suggest doing a Deal with Dave for the kit, auto unit, servos, gyro, sport motor, battery packs and receiver - should set you back £250 ish and at least you'll have the funnof building it

Malcolm,

I was going to order the standard Eco8 deal from SMC
http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk...asp?ProdID=392 for £359.99 but then I saw your last post!! On top of that I'd have to add the auto unit at £26.50 and a pinion gear for another £3.50.

You're saying I could get all of that (less the charger) from Inwoods for just £250???? A decent charger would only be another 60-70 or so wouldn't it? I know the stuff in the SMC deal isn't the best kit, what sort of stuff would you recommend I ask for? Hitec servos? 3xHS85 and an 81 for the tail??

I need to buy a TX as well... I was thinking of the JR378 for £175.

Inwoods did a cost for me a couple of days ago it was more like £325 without a motor but included some better electrics and two 2400 bat packs.

I think they do a deal for about £285 which includes the motor and a couple of servos I think. The best thing is to phone them or go along and get them to do you a deal to the price you can afford.

I have decided to wait off buying a ECO 8 and have got myself a Piccolo Pro to tide me over

Chucky, the £150 deal fell through because some guy paid him directly into his bank or something. It was a good deal which I guess is why he sold it so quick.

Regards

Jerry
