well I havn't been flying heicopters very long. The piccolo is my first heli. I have been flying for two weeks so I'm no expert. But I'll tell you what I have done so far. I have the pic. fun with no mods and a 720 NiMH 8-cell. The main thing that has helped me is a simulator. If you don't have one get one. I crashed the first flight because I thought that I would have enough room, which is the second factor. Make sure that you have enough room. I started in a raquet ball court and would have to land every 15 seconds cuase I was about to hit a wall. I am fine with this now but you have to fly like a million times to get things under control. Another factor is the pendulum effect. My heli would start going a direction and I would counter act this and then this would start a chain reaction of worse and worse effects untill I hit the raquetball court's wall. Now I'm using a basket ball court and this has helped tremendously. I think the main thing I had to get over was over-correcting. If when you take off it hovers really well for 4-8 seconds your heli is pretty close to being in tri, but if you then can't seem to keep it going the way you wan't then you are over correcting.
Give me more info on how far you are along and what you are flying. |
