Default \"Bic\" Mod Lubrication

My own rudimentary version of this popular mod needs a drop of oil applying every six flights for it to continue working correctly. Is this about normal, as it seems a bit too frequent to me.

I used Cailube when I made the mod. 20-30 flights later it's still perfect.

what is your bic mod?the ball or the bic from above,i use the bic from above and use a bit of cailube wich seems to stay moist for abut 20 or so flights ,because it presses down on to the swashplate it kinda forms a seal .

I use CaiLube on my Bic/ball mod and all ball links and I don't have to keep replenishing.

My "Bic" mod is just a short section old Biro, mounted above the swashplate and bearing up against the centre hub.

It seemed about the right shape (after a little fettling), but I think perhaps it's not working efficiently. It certainly helps me hover considerably, but needs plenty of lube.

Maybe I should do the "official" Bic mod. - at least I've proved to myself just how much of an improvement it makes to stability and response.

To "The Three musketeers". Is CaliLube better than SuperLude? Is that where I'm going wrong?

OK, I tried to get CaliLube at my local model shop and they'd never heard of it.

Maybe I gave up too soon and took second best. It's back on my shopping list now.
