Default How many flights is a lot?

I’ve been flying fixed wing RC models for a lot of years and have got a few models with, what I thought, was a lot of “air-time”.

My seven-year-old Yamamoto, for instance, has so far had 319 flights whilst a five-year-old Wot4 has had 284.

I’ve had my Piccolo since Christmas and it’s actually been “airworthy” for a total of just 26 days. I just added up the number of flights it’s had and I’m amazed to learn it’s already had 336!

Flights is perhaps a bit of a generalisation, as my early attempts (up to day 6) hardly justify that description, but nevertheless I’ve flattened my battery packs 336 times over 26 days – sometimes flying, sometimes just trying and crashing, then trying again.

Is it me that’s totally obsessed, or is my experience “normal” for a Piccolo addict?

How many flights per day is “normal” for you guys?

Tony,
You are averaging just under 13 flights a day and just under 2 posts on this BB a day... get a life

Only kidding, not bad going, compared to my under 3 hours of flight time you are an old timer.

Actually, you may just have a point (perhaps even two of them).

Paul Heckles! No way. I'm just happy if I finish the day and can go to bed without leaving my latest repair "set" overnight - like last night ! ! !

Yep, it was the first time that happened. Felt sort of strange - but good.

Looking back over my "log" (there's an embelishment), the day after I thought I'd got the hover sorted I had 28 flights (and 2 that ended in repairs). How many flights would my total be if I'd been able to keep that up?

Hehe..I still remember landing, packing the stuff away getting half way up the stairs and thinking "did I need to repair something?...NO!...well why am I not flying it then?" sometimes you just have to stop.

My tail motor's pinion is getting glued back on (again). As soon as the glue's gone off, so will I have too - to fly.
