Everything works except the tail motor
I've gotten my Piccolo Fun all put together and it's looking good so far. I'm going separates so I know the fun is just beginning, here goes:
I've got a Cirrus MXR-4 Rx, two CS-5.4 servos, a Pixie 7P main motor ESC, a JMP HF-100 tail motor ESC, and a CSM HLG200 gyro.
When I plug everything in, I can get the main rotor to spin and I can move the swashplate, but I get nothing from the tail rotor. As far as I can tell, everything is plugged in correctly: lead from CSM gyro goes into the receiver, signal wire from the gyro goes to the ESC, the ESC is connected to the tail motor. I've checked polarity on everything, and obviously I'm getting power to the rest of the heli, so I believe my soldered splice between the two ESCs and the battery connector is ok.
The only thing I can think of, off hand, is that perhaps the voltage on my batteries is low and thus the JMP tail ESC is cutting out. Only problem with that theory, as I see it, is that the LV cutoff for the JMP is 4.2V, while the LV cutoff for the Pixie is 4.7V. It seems that the Pixie should cut out before the JMP, right?
Anyways, I'm going to check everything out with a fully charged battery tomorrow first thing, but if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears. Thanks very much!
