Ok, I know there are a lot of Picco Pilots out there, and I know someone has the knowledge to help me and others, so please help us. One of the main problems going from an all in one link the PiccoPlus Boards with HH to Separates is that most of us have a 4 or 6 channel Radio. I have a Hitec Laser 6. When you go separates no one tells you that you need a radio that can do mixing because the Picco did it all for us. I've also heard that if you have a Gyro with HH you don't need a Radio with mixing because the Gyro does it all for you. My problem is how do you get enough power to the tail to keep the torque for the main from over powering it? My tail trim is set in the middle. When I plug up my heli I have to move the tail control to the left for about 2 seconds and then the tail responds to the moving of the heli. Now the problem with this is that when I start to lift off I have to start applying tail power. Once I get out of the wash, the tail can't keep up with the main. If I push the tail trim from center to the right the tail stays on even in HH mode. Any help would be great.
Thanks A Million Superman217 |

I actually sounds like the 240 is doing its job. Having to hold the stick to the left to initialize the tail is normal, I had the same problem. If the tail is hunting you may want to try to turn the gain up on the gyro. This should give it more authority. Next, do you have the stock tail motor, or the high authority one? If you have the stock short motor, it may not have enough gusto to do the job. My 240 seems to do a pretty good job and holds really well overall. Let me know if this answers your question, and let me know what type of tail motor you are running.

First off, thanks for answering my post. I'm using the High Authority Motor. So what should be doing is set the trim to center, plug it up, and then push it to the left for a second or to and then it should work? All I change was my PiccoPlus board with HH because it died and my friend said that I should just go separates. I still have the same motors and pinions. Below is what I'm running now.
Thanks for your help |

The only other time that I had a similar problem was when my tail motor was about to give up on me. How long has it been since you replaced it??? I do occasionally have to trim the tail a little as well, but most of the time if centers up nicely. Sounds like you got all the right pieces, should lock in perfectly. Anyone else got an opinion on this one?

I just ordered a new motor today just incase it was the motor. Thank you for all of your help and if you need anything, just ask. I'll keep you posted on my situation.

You probably already thought of this but check for tail motor pinion slipping.

Bad Tail Motor. It's all good.
