Default Pro battery question

Hi Guys,

Is anyone running a pro on 8 cell NiMh with the stock 410 motor. I'm currently using 9 cell NiMh and getting a hot motor (might have a lot do do with a four channel / y lead set up). I'm not too worried about bags of power as I've only been hovering for a few weeks (nose in still scares the pants off me)

I've got 24 loose AAA, 1.2v NiMh cells (maplin 2 for 1 offer ) and I can make three packs of eight and 2 with six left over if I make 9 cell packs. I'd rather have the extra pack if it'll work.

Cheers

Dan

So long as you can get the heli to balance correctly with 8 cells (and it shouldn't be a problem) then 8 will be fine. I ran my Pro on 410/8 Cells for a few flights before ditching the 410 after it broke when I crashed (410s have a habit of doing that). I wouldn't be too concerned about your 410 getting hot; using the Y-lead configuration is not a very efficient way of flying a CP helicopter, and the 410 motors that I've encountered are not of a very high quality and tend to overheat and die very quickly. If you get flights of 6 to 8 minutes on 8 cells you're doing very well with a 410.

Cheers mark,

I'm gonna ditch the y lead when I get a better TX next weekend.

I'm getting about 6 - 7 mins with 9, so I'll expect slightly less with 8.
