There could always be a separate servo with a micro RX and a small battery in that container for inducing collective. This sounds a little extreme though even for J.

bet he put that ball on the top to keep us guessing about what it is..

Now the real question for J is how long till you can send them out and can we have it sooner if you don't anodize them..heheh

The thing on the top looks like it has "arms" the open up like an umbrella when the flybar moves up and down. Don't have a clue why it would be that way, but that's what it looks like.

When I looked at the picture there was no ball, i am guessing here, could J be making a body shell for a heli that has a radar on the top???

Earler today the pic had a ball on top. It misteriously changed arround 11:50 AM today.

He must be out flying. That is all I can figure...

Either that or he has a life and we do not..hehe

he could use the mainshaft as a conductor, but it would have very high resistance, it is basically a long resistor. The problem is the he has to have 3 connections go to the ball. One is easy, two is possible, but 3 is a mess!

I think that the ball is just a game he is playing...the only rational thing I can think of is a camera ball he is modelling for an upcoming scout helicopter.

But then again, I am using the word "rational" in reference to J, this just isn't right!

Even if it were possible to get 3 wires up the centre of the main shaft, how would you make them rotate without ripping themselves apart?
