I put the screws and washers in first then push the motor to the tail gear box and set the mesh. It doesn't fit as well as the stock motor.

I used a cable tie round the motor and 'mount' (this is on a fp...) and its holding fine with the tiny screws that came with the original fp tail motor.

Ash watch out! standard fp tail motor uses M1.3 and the pro tail motor uses M1.6.It may seem secure but they will come out and you will crash if it happens in the air . I was lucky, while waiting for my screws I orderd to come in I also tried my old fp tailmotor screws and thought it would be o.k. as it seemed to be secure but after a few flights and a bad landing ware my tail had hit a table leg my tail motor fell of on spin up next flight. Was lucky I wasn't in the air yet.

The problem with fitting the pro motor is that brass step around the shaft. Rather than modding my tail housing, I used a dremmel to grind a flat spot on the motor instead. Fits nice and I can go back to the stock motor with no worries.

the tail motor housing of all the pics, pro as well as fun and eco are all the same.To fit the pro tail motor you simply screw it in.
what I mean is that if you have the proper M1.6 screws for the tail motor you first place the screws in the slots ware they will stay cause its a tight fit and then you place the pro motor against the housing and aline the screws and then simply screw it in place. This works perfectly aslong as you have the right screws. If you don't the motor will not sit correctly.
When I first got my pro I lost one of the screws befor I had a chance to install the tailmotor and I ended up having to wait a month till I got ahold of a new set of screws cause there was no way I could get it to stay in place without them, a while later when upgrading one of my fp I didn't get the screws with the new pro motor and same thing. After that I orderd 20 extra from a hardware store(b!#$ch to get a hold of)so I wouldn't have this problem again. My advice is to get the right screws.
