Antenna Lengths

I have JR R610M Rx. Can I shorten the length? I know I will lose distance, but will I lose signal strength. This antenna is like 39 inches long. I am only flying in a radius of 200 feet or so. Sure would like to cut it down. What is a safe Length?

If you dont want to cut,try this,get a pencil ,wrap the antenna around and around and tighten it up then pull the pencil out,it should look like a spring,i havent had any issues with mine flying inside but when i go out doors all i have to do is pull the anteena to create its full length and i get best of both worlds.
