Default Like a hoverfly?

I've been flying the hoverfly for a year now and I've just moved to an FP Hornet. The question I have is....does anyone know how to make an umbilical cord for the Hornet and/or piccolo so that flight times are increased like the Hoverfly? I know that the Eco 8s have umbilical cords to connect to 12v batteries. Is there one for the Hornet and/or Piccolo.

TIA

I made one, I got a plug to match the socket on the piccoboard,
a socket to match a buggy pack from my LNS.

I joined the two with 3 metres (10 feet) of twin 5 Amp cable,
repeatedly checking the polarity.

The cable I used is a bit stiff, try to get silicone or a very
flexible type.

Two things to watch out for; firstly it is quite easy for the
training gear to trip over the cable as the piccolo starts to
drift on take-off, and secondly a 2200mAh buggy pack _WILL_
out last your Tx battery so check the meter frequently.

You will still need to mount your normal flight battery on the
piccolo to set up the balance, it is _very_ hairy if you forget,
guess how I know?

Wo..thanks for that. Could you give me the specs on your LNS buggy pack? What is that? Isn't 2200mAh a little on the high side? Were you worried about blowing the picoboard? Also, what was the voltage? Thanks.

They are 8.4V, Sanyo & 'No Name Brand'

I have 1400, 1700 & 2200 mAh packs.

LNS is a misspelling of LHS (Local Hobby Shop)

The piccoboard will only pull the current that it requires.

In the event that it tries to pull enough current to blow
itself up, even a flight pack will provide this, unless it
is nearly flat, that is the nature of nicads.

The capacity of a nicad relates to how long it will supply
current for and how much current it can supply before it will
kill itself.

My 'standard' piccolo pulls about 3.5 Amps max, which is almost
insignificant to a buggy pack, so they last ages.
