Default TOTALLY O.T. - Browser/forum problem help!

Now this is really getting on my T!TS. for some reason, my browser (IE 6 on Win 98) has just decided, out of the blue, to stop refreshing when I go into the main or sub-indexes on the forum. I can do it manually by hitting refresh fine, but it no longer does it automatically. I have not changed any settings, or changed any preferences, but after about 5 minutes on here this morning I had a strange glitch, where no matter what I did with the mouse, whenver I moved the mouse in any direction, the page scrolled up and down all over the shop. Since then, no refreshing.

Any ideas folks?

Basically I don't have a clue but..... do you have a mouse with a scroll wheel? Are you using anything other than the Windows mouse driver? You might try re-installing the mouse driver if you are not using the MS version.

Other than that, I dunno. Never seen that here.

Dongle, I can tell you exactly what your problem is. You are using Windows. Go buy yourself a Mac.

Many thanks for all your remarkably helpful replies...

I am on the scroll mouse paul - I will try a reload!

Believe me, given half the chance, a powerful hand gun and a small room with me and master-gates in it and I would put an end once and for all of this micro-soft (apparently a name his old girlfriend came up with, he just did not realise she was refering to his genitals at the time)

I have got a Mac at home (sorry, the wife has a mac at home), but it's a little psat it's sell by date - about 6 years past

Don't mess with any peripheral setups until you have carried out the above post. Or you will be chasing your tail and never get it right.

Dongle, use the Logout function of the BBS and then log back in. I've had this problem before and that always cleared it up for me.

Hmmmm.. didn't have quite the desired effect - I now have all posts marked as read! still, it appears to be refreshing at least

Now all I've got to do is sort the mouse out - I know, I'll swap my PC with one of the secretaries while she's at lunch - that should solve my problem
