Default Seized Motor

Hey guys i got a pretty big problem. I was just out flying my Eco at 3-4 feet in the air the motor seized. I am flying the GM racing Purple Bull motor. When i took it off the Eco and tried to turn it by hand it would budge and then finally let go but it feels like there is something broken. possible a broken wire or loose magnet. would this be under warranty? It definetly sounds like a wire snapped or a magnet came unglued from the case.

You might get it replaced under warranty, but I wouldn't mentioned that you were using it in a helicopter at the time. It's sold as a buggy motor

Hard to say, my Purple Bull didn't do that but it did burn out after a couple of days. IMHO those motors are junk. I've got one lying around here somewhere, let me know if you need spare parts.

i could definatly use a motor and a main gear and hub. I just bought a piccolo and if this Eco doesn't stop shitting the bed i might sell it. If you want i can pay you for it or if you feel like helping me out that would be excellent. Thanks alot guys

PM me your address and one beatup Purple Bull is yours, no charge. I just had the comm turned on it, but I think it is too thin and was heating up again. Maybe you can give it a decent burial. Sorry no extra hubs or gears.

Sounds about right for these motors - mine lasted about four flights - Bin it and get the Eco Sport motor, or the Magnetic Mayhem reversed. (or bite the bullet and go brushless - you'll never look back )

Im using that motor and I test the rpm by using a rc car field starter. Works fine with me. I also have the magnetic mayhem thats on my car I can use. I think the purple bull is a very good motor for begginers like me. Ikarus motors cost 2 times more than the purple bull but might be different in performance. Well just my opinion on this motor.

I also think the purple bull is a very good motor for beginers. I´m not flying now, but i have made more than 100 flights with it, and it is still working ok. I think its just luck.... some purple bull motors work good, and some.....

might be some mal function in your esc or maybe something got in your motor through the ventalated holes. Why dont you go ahread open that motor up and see what might be in there. The motor just freezing in onespot can mean something might have goten in to that hole such as a small screw. Dont try it unless your familiar with opening motors. Ill try finding the website to reconstruct the motor for you to follow.
