Hey all,
Same thing here as on the Eco board - I'm here to answer questions, solve problems, and listen to anything you have to say about our controllers in the interest of making them BETTER for YOU. Shawn Palmer Product Specialist shawnp@castlecreations.com 785-883-4519 |

Hi Shawn,
#I did post the same question in the last post but I am wondering, when you bring out your new Rx will you also do a 35Mhz version for people here in the UK? Do you know much about the Pic? If so what would be your recomendations for placement of the electronic components? The problem we have is that the Pic is so small the electronics usually end up pretty close together which could explain a lot of our glitching problems. The Norm is to have the rx and PicoBoard together, seperated by a layer of foil behind the main mast and then the P10 with the motor up front. is there any benefit in getting the ESC away from the motor as well? I have seen some that have the ESC attached to the motor can, is this ok? Scott. |

Yes, a 35Mhz version will be offered after the 72's are out officially, but it may be some time afterwards. I spoke to Anks about this recently, and was surprised at the lack of good Rx choices in the UK. We'd like to resolve that problem for you guys!
Honestly, I am not very familiar w/the Pic. I have many friends flying them back in Dallas, (I've moved to Kansas City recently) and I'm no stranger to the boards (mostly just personal curiosity until now) and am learning as fast as I can about the areas I can help out in. Shawn |

There is an unusual dichotomy in the motor/esc proximity question. It's best to have it close in a brushless case, because of the "talking" from the motor to esc and vice versa. BUT, benefits are definitely seen from not having the controller "right next" to the motor. Most likely best to err on the "farther away" side of things in such a tight environment as a general rule.

DarkHorse - if you can tell me exactly how to go about doing that step-by-step, I'll get it done!

Easiest way I guess would be to simply create a new identity
Welcome here! CC is my favorite ESC manufacturer and it is good to see you here vacuuming up feedback and suggestions. My first one is.... step up the development of a high frequency ESC good for at least 6A. Many of us here would snap them up as quick as you could make them! They are a requirement for operation on three LiPolys unless you use a heavier tail motor. Does CC have any update on the Phoenix motor shutdown issues? I realize that is an almost impossible subject due to configuration variations but I gotta ask it any way. Many of us have been plagued with unexplained motor shutdowns, which in a helicopter are not pretty. It is my personal opinion that the problem is NOT the receiver per se. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that on the Piccolo there are two ESCs and they are not synchronous. The junk on the battery wiring must be interesting to say the least! But that is just my conjecture. It would be very helpful if the Phoenix had a distinctive loss of signal shutdown such as a gradual power loss so that we could tell the difference between a uP problem and an input pulse train problem. |

Hey Shawn. What happened to the Razor motor/P10 combos you guys were selling?

Hi freq. esc available in 8 weeks - not from us though, it will be an AstroFlight product.
Razor Motors seems to refuse to grow in order to match supply ( <--- entirely my own personal opinion, not CC related) Because of radically backordered product, and up to 8 week lead times, we (CC) chose to remove them from the site. Shawn |
