Hi'
I have ordered an Astro 010 from HelliHobby. On there web the write that it is a approx. 2000 RPM/V version of the Astro the sell, but I recieved the 10T which is approx. 3700 RPM/V. My question is now? Is there anyway I can use this motor for my Picco FP or do I have to sent it back to HelliHobby? Thanks, |

Did you get any help on this? I'm using the 14T in my Pic, and I like it quite a bit. However, I have read that the 10T is better suited for a heli.

The 10 turn is pretty hot for a FP Picc. You may be alright with only a 2 cell pack, though.

Lars, I used the Astro 10 turn with my FP (8 tooth pinion, 2 x 1020 kokams) and I would say it is very good, but I would reccoment the Hornet CF blades with this combo. The only issue I have is that the motor is so responsive the tail motor has to work extra hard.

The Astro 10T is WAY too hot for a FP Piccolo The 14T and the FP are a match made in heaven.
Can't you send it back for an exchange ? If not don't worry the 10T will be perfect when you get your CP/PRO Regards Jerry |

Thanks guys for responding!
I am really very very confused Look what I got from E-flight: Lars, The 10T is not right for any piccolo it will, we had a pushy customer purchase one and surprisingly he wasn’t happy. Due to the gearing and the low torque of the Astro 10T motor it will bog in a CP Piccolo. For the FP its KV is way too much. It is the 14T that is used for both, 3 LiPo for a CP heli. For the Hornet the Razor MH v2 is the best motor, again this is no good for a Piccolo Pro as the kv is far to high and the torque is low. There is not a one fit motor for both helis since the gearing is very different. Thanks Ian ...and here is what I got from Castle: Lars- Most micro heli users are going to go with either the 10-turn heli motor. The heli motor has a 2mm (SP300 size) shaft and they are a higher RPM per volt than the standard 14-turn motor. -- Best Regards, Brenda Lang Castle Creations ... and Astro: you should purchase the 801H HELI SYSTEM FOR HORNET AND PICCOLLO. it has the 10 turn winding for proper kv and a 2 mm shaft to fit your gears. What I need is the best Astro match for FP and CP. I ordered from HeliHobby. On theire web the say that it is the 2000 RPM/V version the sell (I guess they mean 2300 RPM/v), but the sent me the 10T which is 3570 RPM/v and the seams like they do not have a clue on what they are selling What I am hoping for is to hear about setups were the motors are working Many many thanks, Lars |

Are you still using the 10T or have you switched to 14T?

Do you remember where you have read that the 10T is better suited?

Update from Astro:
the 10 new 10 turn with 2 mm shaft is best for both machines. see photos (Photo of an inverted Hornet) 2 mm shaft lets you use all existing gears. for hornet the 11 tooth gear will give you a 2300 rpm head speed. bob .... does not say much about the Piccolo |
