Okay, so I broke my second stock pico strut & went to order some more after a few attempts at CA'ing, & decided to go ahead & purchase the retrofit undercarriage. Does anyone have an opinion on it? Reviews? Is it easy to 'retrofit'?
Also, any suggestions on removing the old struts from the chassis? I'm kind of dreading that. Thanks! Lee |

I've been helping a freind with a fun and he had the same problem. I told him to wrap the strut in sewing string just about 10 to 15 turns and then us the CA. It works kind of like fiberglass and will really take a beating. It will increase you weight but you can just buy some new skids once you have mastered the soft landing.
Good luck |

I just wobbled my old stuts till they fell off. Using the Heli Hobby retrofit gear you don't need the old mounting mouldings on the rear of the chassis so I got a dremmel and cut them right off at the base of the tail. (saved a little weight as well.)

I've got some on mine and they work great! If you are going to buy them, get them from heli-hobby and not from MIA. I have heard bad things about MIA (bad service). I have been flying these for 2 months with no problems at all. Hope this helps.

I've got the retrofit undercarriage but decided to fit it differently to how it shows coz it seemed too much effort. For the back 2 legs I bent the wire 90 degrees at the top and pushed them through 2 drilled holes before gluing in place. The fron 2 legs I simple glued into the existing undercarriage holes.
I have crashed my pro from some height and literally flattened the undercarriage.. I picked it up bent the legs back in place and off I went again. It really a superb upgrade, and it looks good too |

HELP NEEDED!
Okay, I received my MIA landing gear & am installing, BUT noticed the frame does not allow for one side of the landing gear to be elevated for take-offs as the original did, should I leave it? Or should I clip the struts on the left to allow some lean? Lee |

I have the Pro- Look Belo (hehe)
And that one doesn't have any "lean" to the tailrotor's side. It goes OK. If you're a bit expierenced it shouldn't go wrong or anything bad cannot happen! Tell me how it flies that way on a FP heli (takeoffs of course ) Dave |

If you are getting good at hovering and can take off and land smoothly I wouldn't worry about the lean. I have the MIA and have learned to compensate upon lift-offs.
