What is the best, lowest cost brushless motor and controller combination out there?
FX has a couple Mega motors w/Phoenix 45 controller for $195. How are these? Anything cheaper? I'm just starting off and considering whether it's a waste to buy the standard brush motor and controller for $100 if I will want to get rid of it quickly. Thanks |

There's no such thing as a "cheap" brushless motor combo - some are less expensive than others !
Typical installation would be a Hacker B50 - 18 or 19s and suitable controller for around £250. Not sure if some of the less expensive motors work well. |

Mega or Jeti are cheap brushless motors (relatively speaking of course).
Castle Creation Phoenix are cheap controllers. Make sure you get the latest software version though. You need it to get a smooth start up. If you don't have the latest version, you can get a free upgrade. |

Generally the Mega 22/20/3H and the Phoenix 45 is about the least expensive brushless combo you can find. Performance is excellent. Besides the heavy cogging of the Mega motor you can hardly tell the difference between this combo and the rest on the market. |

larrwill,
I have a jeti phasor 30/3 and a 40/3p esc with a 24 tooth pinion for sale. $125.00 for the lot. they are brand new. I purchased them as back ups for the set up I have in my Eco now. Have a look here www.nesail.com/Jeti/jetibrushless.htm I paid $225.00 new including sh & tax. The only thing is that I have offered them to A gentleman already and if he wants them I will have to sell them to him. If he decides not to buy them I will keep this offer open to you. Bill |
