Default Piccoboard problem?

For the past few days, I have not been able to get the piccoboard to work. I switch on the transmitter (fully charged), plug in the battery pack and 3 seconds later the piccoboard light comes on. At this point the motors start and stop on their own and their is little or no control of both the servos! I have no idea of what to check for as previously I have just waited for the board to initialise and them I'm off.

Has anyone suffered from this before and knows what to do?

Thanks
Spencer

check the crystal on the PB - if you have had a minor "mishap" you could have damaged it. failing that check for broken or loose wires - take of the rotor to avoid injury then wiggle servo leads etc to see if anything stops/starts moving (obviously switch trannie on first!!)

Try removing both servos and trying again - I had a very similar experience with my PB and it turned out to be a dodgy servo that was taking too much current through the BEC making everything go haywire!

As dongle said make sure both crystals (Tx and Rx) are firmly in position and make sure your Tx aerial is screwed in tight!

Your right, it is one of the servos and I'm afraid to tell you that because of that I have broken the other rotor you sent! As soon as the light came on, it went mental and hit a wall. Sorry about that - there's no helping some people is there.

Will I have to replace the servo? Is the Supertec Pico the only choice or is there better?

Sorry Hogster.

Regards,
Spencer

Spencer,

The Supertec Pico ISN'T the only choice. Gee Dee do some Saturn S54's which weigh just 5.4g. Then there are the transparent blue HS50 ones which I understand are a bit pricey. But if it's just slipping servo gears then they also sell a gear train kit for your Picos for less than £2! Otherwise give me a shout, because I have a couple of spares which I might be able to cannibalise bits out of for you.
