Hi lads, how far do u lads have to move your throttle stick to get it to lift off. Mines about halfway, this is with 8 aaa cells and a trainning gear. How about u lot?

I'm a little higher than 1/2 stick, using 2C 1020 Kokam's.
I'm thinking if you're lifting off at 1/2 throttle with a conventional 8 cell pack and training gear, you're motor isn't running effeciently and it's getting a little hot? yes/no? You want to aim for hover at about 70-75% throttle for the motor stay on the cool side. When you take the training gear off, I'd guess you'll be hovering below 50%. This will cause a higher current drain and excess heat. Get the voltage up to reduce the current draw for hover. What pinion are you using? When you take the training gear off, try one tooth smaller to get the motor running faster but still maintaining a hover head speed. |

ive just upraded to a tuning 310 motor. Temperature is ok though. My batterys do drain quite quick though.I use the middle pinion that comes in the pack so i dont know what that is.

That would be a 9 tooth pinion ....

That sounds good then, 9 tooth on a 310. When you take your training gear off, if you're hovering at too low a throttle or the motor gets hot to the touch, try an 8 tooth.
