This is the charger I've been using for about 2 months on my Cellular phone Li-ion 3-cell pack. You could use just one channel with the voltage set to 12.3 or 12.6 Volts (depending on the spec of the cells) and a higher voltage transformer, but I wanted to be sure that the max voltage for each cell was not exceeded. The charging current can be increased by reducing the 4.7 ohm resistors. 4.7 ohm gives 120 mA, I'm now using 1.8 ohm which charges my 650 mAh Li-ions in about 2.5 hours. Alan. Could someone please explain the circuit diagram a bit... for example, where do the batteries attach? Could I charge 2-cell Li-ion packs with this charger?
Finally, is it safe to use 3-cell Li-ion packs with the piccoboard? Each cell is giving over 4 volts fully charged -> a 3 cell pack gives more than 12V fully charged. Isn't this too high? Thanks -Nicolas |

Dilznic:
Don't worry about the piccoboard. If you see the graphs I've posted on my site you'll see the current and tension of a Li-Ion battery pack. About the circuit. You can see the battery symbols on the circuit. That's where you should charge/place your cells. On a first look at the circuit I believe you can charge one cell, 2 cells or even 3 cells.
