Default Battery holding scheme (plus brass landing gear photo)...

Just thought I would post a picture of my nice brass skis, which are now on my piccolo. I just went for the friction fit which allows them to be taken off easily if necessary. In case anyone was wondering, yes they are heavier than the stock parts (by 2.4 times), but they look cool

I was trying to find a neat battery holding scheme too and went for the approach shown. There are just two little (scrap copper) tubes which slide free on the CF landing rods and then a piece of piano wire soldered between them. Once you get this right they will give a limited amount of shift downwards enough so that the battery can be sandwidches between it and the little plastic bit on the main frame (which covers the motor gear). I have since put some velcro on the bottom of the battery and then you can make it even more secure by putting an opposite bit of velco on top of the piano wire and onto the battery velcro beneith.

Note that my small connectors are threaded through the holes in the frame and are held in place by the same zip tie which holds on the piccoboard. The connections for the battery are then neatly hidden away. Also there is a small toggle switch to isolate the power, which is situated near the main motor. So far this arrangement has been very effective.
