I think I would like to try this motor with a DD setup, I have a Schultze 105 so should work ok. Has anyone had any experience with it and do you know where I can get one from in Europe, or who makes them?

They're good motors but bear in mind that they are twice the weight of the stock Pic tail motor. Although now that I think about it, losing the tail housing and tail gear should save you that much weight anyway.

Thats a great site I especially like the carbon fibre props they look tempting for tail option. As for weight I think they are 8grams lighter that the pro motor im using already, but Im not sure if they will match the power of my pro or handle the voltage of 3 LiPo's

I think I need to hear from someone who has used one before I buy. I want ot be sure it has the grunt to work DD on a CP Pro with a brusless setup

I fly one, but it drives the nomal pinion/spur gear arrangement of the TR. It works fine and is about the same weight as a DD with the HP Pro tailmotor. Don't think you will find it has the power to swing the 3x2 DD prop but let us know how it works out.

So I think your saying it does not really have the same power as a Piccolo Pro motor. I think it might not be worth it, its a shame I would relly like a coreless on the tail, I think they are really smooth and would hold it steady great

They are as powerful as the stock motor IIRC.
BUT, if you use a normal rate ESC, the brushes wear out very quickly. You need the HF-100 (100kHz) controller to save the brushes! Check out this page for more info on the motor : http://www.wes-technik.de/English/brushes.htm You can get all this stuff and many others from Wes Technik directly here : www.wes-technik.de |
