Hi! I am treating myself to a nice little Christmas present and just ordered a new 1500mah 3 cell kokam pack and a direct drive tail system to go with it. I'm currently using a 3 cell 1200mah etec pack but am having alot of difficulty with it. The power isn't great and to charge the pack at 1000ma takes about 7-8 hours. The trouble is my power supply is only 13.8v 12A and so I charge 2 of the cells together and then the third seperately. I always make sure the jumper on the westech charger is set to the correct cell count. The 2 cells charge in about 2-3 hours and the third takes about 4-5 hours (blimey!). So I thought stuff it I'll just buy a nice new 1500mah preassembled pack and be done with it!
I plan to spray the painfully bright orange taill rotor black. My next upgrade will be the 'super-heavy' airwolf body kit just for fun. |

A couple of things Skytek, 7-8 hours is far to long, I use a WesTek and charge my 3 cell packs in just over an hour on 1000Mah, why do you think they are taking that long? Is that when the green LED is on and the red off completley? This sort of chargeing has probably buggered the pack, I assume you are sure they are balanced every time to within 10mV?
I have a laptop power supply here that whacks out 18v, you can have it, that way you can do your 3 cells all at the same time, else you gonna have the same trouble with the 1500Mah cells, drop me a PM with your address if you want it. It needs a kettle power lead (might be able to find one here if you havnt got one), will also need the wires joining to your charger but its simple red to red black to black type stuff so dont worry about that. |

The "super heavy" Airwolf isn't that heavy. You already have compensated that with powerful Li-Po's!!!! The prop is more scale too. I like it a lot better on my Huey! Greets, Dave |
