Default tail rotor

anyone got any suggestion on how to keep the
pinion gear on the tail motor i've glued it many times and it might stay on 1-5 mins. then it comes of(copter does a nice pirroette) when it comes off.was thinking of
drilling thru the gear and motor shaft and putting a pin thru it but its so small i believe it would be very hard to do any suggestions? also i heard there was a mod for a antirotation link made out of a hinge
anybody got a picture the stock one pops off as much as my tail rotor pinion gear.

thanks
roy

Roy,

Don't forget after you get all the CA off, to "roughen up your shaft " so to speak with a small file, etc.

I found that just glueing didn't work, had to have that extra "cling" to hang on to....

Roy,

For the anti-rotation mod check
www.fivestarwebsite.com/piccoflyer

There are 3 pictures of it about 1/3 down on the page.

AS newhelinut said, roughen the shaft with fine sandpaper, clean it with a little bit of meths/thinners etc and then use thick cyno or epoxy, if you lubricate the motor a lot it is more likely that the pinion will come off.

You might also want to try soaking the pinion in acetone to remove the old CA. What seems to happen is that the hole gets plugged and the next time you try to CA the pinion on, the CA does not actually run into the hole and you don't get a very good bond.

How long do you soak the plastic parts for without having them melt?
