I have been fighting with this tracking issue for a while now and have read all the tips on the subject, but... I still have this issue. The paddels are straight and rotationaly balanced. I have tried bending the high blade to achive more lift, doesn't seem to help much, and I have tried changing the pitch of the leading or controlling paddel and that helps a little but to get to a perfect track I would have to add way to much lift. One last thought is that the head has a little play on the hub berrings. I don't know if this is normal for a fun pic or is it supposed to be snug. If it is how should I change this problem? Thanks again.

I ment adjusting the low blade for more lift, just an early morning brane fart. How exactly should I balance the main blades?

Hello,
I have never had good luck keeping my Fun Pic standard blades in track. Especially when I was using the head stiffener. I tried bending the blades, pitch adjustment, etc. Sometimes if the head has popped off too many times it will not work good. Also, as mentioned above, have the blades tight enough to not pivot too freely, and equally tight. But loose enough so they pivot with your finger pushing them. The best results came when I went to the white Hornet Blades. What a difference. The heli was more stable and the blades were in track. I don't know how to balance the blades because nothing I have can handle the light weight. You can check the center of gravity or the blades, that may help. Gary |

Yes, had a similarly impossible-to-solve tracking problem. In then end I swapped the parts below and almost completely solved the problem without balancing or tweaking anything. My bet is that most of the problem came from the rotor centre as it's was probably not flat from new. If your head is new, you could try boiling it in water as this supposedly gets rid of residual stresses that warp the plastic.
Rotor centre - Worn from popping off too many times and probably twisted to begin with Flybar - CF flybar had chunks taken out of it so that it wasn't straight Flybar paddles - warped and slipping on the flybar IMO a metal flybar would be better as it can't have chunks taken out of it and the Pro paddles are 100%+ better than the originals. also, try things that aren't generally suggested... yesterday I finally got my hornet blade head to track! (I have two different heads built up, easier to try out different blades that way...) anyway, it would track at lower rpms, but as soon as it hit hover rpms, it would be about 1/2 inch out... turns out that if i loosen the blades so they will move on their own when tipped, the heli flys great and blades track perfectly!

If it is how should I change this problem [/ QUOTE ] Hi Blane the fun pic rotor head is suppose to have a small amount of “teeter” at 90 degrees to the main pivoting action. I thought this teeter was causing a wobble on my pic so I packed the bearing a little , reducing the teeter and the wobble got much much worse. The solution, I found was that my ball links were too tight, I slackened them off and the wobble went. |
