Don't even know if it should be called a mod. It's just to take the slop out of a worn flybar or head. Get a small rubberband and wrap it as shown, it tensions the flybar in one direction reducing sloppy operation. See attachment above:

how bad is the additional friction? I generally try to keep the flybar moving as smooth as possibly. what part of illinois are you in? anywhere near st. louis? |

You need to get the right size rubberband, it's a trial and error thing but it does work very smoothly, give it a try.
I'm about 30 miles NW of Chicago. |

ah, up near the windy shitty. I would imagine the rubber band has to be rather loose to avoid lots of friction. oddly enough, its the exact same way I have my power antenna mounted to the skids |

What I noticed was I could move the flybar a considerable distance up and down without it affecting the pitch of the main blades. This backlash can only lead to more vagueness in the controls. The rubberband will keep the flypar tensioned against the head so subtle flybar movement will act on the blade pitch and not be lost in the backlash. With this setup the flybar will have some tension trying to keep it horizontal which the servo will have to overcome. This however is a very small force. It's very simple to try, give it a shot.
