Wow! Yesterday I added the heading hold module to my piccoboard plus and.. what a difference! The tail is absolutely locked i think i can even leave the left stick for a few seconds (but i wouldn't do that )
Now that i can forget about continuous tail control i can fine-tune my nosein skills and i should be ok for TOTAL control within a month. Ahhhh i'm happy with my Pic. |

Glad to hear that! I just ordered one to try from Sly's. Makes me feel better about 25 bucks and knowing some positive feedback.

You just have to trim it with great care but once it is perfectly trimmed, your tail will be really locked. You can approach small landing areas and concentrate only on cyclic control: your heli will stay in place. Well at least the tail

I'm having the problem that I give a rudder input and the tail doesn't move, so I give progressivly more rudder and then eventually the tail whips round 90 degrees. If I turn the gain down it helps but if I turn it down too far the tail doesn't hold properly. All this is not even mentioning the permanent drift problems. It always drifts slightly to the right at the beginning of the pack and left towards the end of the pack. Its difficult to get the mixer spot on so that it will work throughout the whole battery discharge. Same with the gain, it'll wag on a fresh pack but won't hold properly towards the end. |

anybody else here uses a PB with heading lock module?
Hooloovoo, effectively i had to turn the mix pot to the right 'cause tail was wagging back and forth but once i did this, it works very steady to me. Then you fly without HH right? Without HH you can control better your tail? |

I had a HH module a long time ago. Didn't like it at all, it made the tail uncontrollable. Some people report great success with the HH module, others report entirely the opposite. Maybe it's down to a personal preference or maybe they just work in some setups and not others, or maybe some of them just don't work. I guess the only way to find out is to try it.

I like to be able to dump in an load of power in an emergency and not have to worry about the heli spinning round...... |
