Well...I already have one...but just wondering if I should put it on.. The Piccolo is only 2 weeks old..so no glitches..no battery problems. However, since I am new at Hhelis...and when I panic I release the throttle...and I think the auto may help...

If you are just learning, you should not be at the height to be able to utilise the autorotation unit. I learned to hover at about 1-3 ft. From that height you can't really damage much, and what you do you will probably upgrade and never worry about again.
I would say leave it out for a bit and get used to the pic as stock, then when you think that you will be able to use it, put it in |

if you panic and release the throttle maybe breaking it 1 or two times may help you to learn not to do it
yea leave it out until you learn to fly it |

The one-way gear is useful if you use a brushless motor, as sometimes (although I've never experienced it) the motor can kick backwards when it tries to start up. This would usually cause stress to the gearing if it wasn't fitted with a one-way or 'autorotation' gear. However, as you're not using a brushless motor, the only real benefit from you having it would be that the rotors would take longer to slow down .... I use one on my Bell 212, and I'm using a brushless motor and Hornet blades (much heavier). This still doesn't allow my heli to autorotate (far from it! ), but it does make the rotors slow down in a much more scale/realistic fashion. If you're the kinda guy that likes scale realism then you'll love the one-way gear! I'm going to go ahead and state that in the micro heli's you won't be doing many autos. The blades lack enough inertia to do them well. However, if you are talking about using it to reduce the loading on the gears while chopping the power then I think they are worth it. I would rather not deal with stripped gears, or motor problems. They are also nice at smoothing out momentary glitches with the GWS (Glitches are Welcome System?) rx.

Ny feeling is pop it on, you'll stress the motor less on sudden throttle offs
