I've already looked into this one. The AreoHawk (AKA XR-1) is quite close and is in a way a cheap knock off. The quality is not there and there are some differences. One main one is the rotorhead design. It is completely different but similar to other cheap asian knock offs on the market. Also I've noticed the tail motor is mounted below the boom instead of on top. Other than that the tail motor and rest seem quite similar.
I saw this post and have to at least admit this one .... I broke a main blade and my local hobby shop was out so I eyeballed some AreoHawk main blades. Hmmmmm..... So.... I noticed the mounting hole was much smaller and realized the rest was the same demensionally so I bought 'em. Later I drilled out the mounting hole to the size needed for my Ikarus Fun rotorhead and reamed it out just a touch for the final fit and.... Volla!!! Worked like a champ. I still have them on and although the moulding is rough (clean up w/ some sandpaper then balance) they work just as well as stock. Maybe a tad more coning angle but they work. I'd never trust the AreoHawk electronics though. Might be able to pick off some other parts for cheap fixes...hehehe. |

Yes, and being used to UK prices, $6 for a tail motor is a steal!!

i see the pics, but that doesnt look that micro, not that i really can be that small becaues of the rotors etc.. i was just stating that we would possbly use 2 bodys from the astroflight page and mate them together for the chinook.
a cheaper way to go |

Yeah, they come ready to fly out the box for $200.00, they come with full ball bearings, CF parts, build canopy, and they fly very stable. Look at my footer Don't worry, I love the Piccolo too
